Guayaquil authorities raid suspected clandestine nightclub in Urdesa
Authorities in Guayaquil, Ecuador, conducted a raid on a suspected clandestine nightclub in the Urdesa Central district following a three-month investigation. The operation, dubbed ‘Casa China’, was carried out by the National Police and the Guayas Governor's Office.
During the intervention, officials discovered luxury rooms, large amounts of cash, and various alcoholic beverages. The establishment appeared to cater primarily to Asian clients and Ecuadorian citizens referred by members of that community. Investigators also found elements suggesting illegal gambling activities, including mahjong sets and tables.
Several women of Chinese nationality were found at the premises. Migration police are currently verifying their documentation, as some passports showed irregularities and one individual reportedly triggered an Interpol alert. Authorities are investigating potential human trafficking and the illegal operation of the venue.
