Guayaquil Chamber of Industries celebrates 90 years

The Guayaquil Chamber of Industries (CIG) celebrated its 90th anniversary with a solemn session marking its history since 1936. The event focused on the role of the productive sector in promoting competitiveness, investment, and employment through public-private dialogue. During the ceremony, Cervecería Nacional and Holcim Ecuador were recognized as the Best Industries of the Year 2026.

In a related development regarding industrial excellence in Ecuador, the forestry-industrial company Cotopaxi received two national recognitions. The company was named among the top 100 businesses contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Ecuador at the ODS Leaders Summit 2026. Additionally, Cotopaxi was honored for its distinguished business trajectory and its contribution to the Ecuadorian construction industry, specifically for its evolution from board production to high-value interior design solutions.
