Fatal traffic accidents reported across Latin America
Multiple fatal traffic accidents have been reported across several Latin American regions.
In Tacna, Peru, an elderly man died after being struck by a heavy dump truck at an intersection. Security footage captured the moment the vehicle moved forward as the pedestrian attempted to cross. The driver has been detained.
In Guatemala City, a 38-year-old motorcyclist, Cesar Eduardo Pichilla Soto, died after crashing into a planter at the Plaza del Obelisco. In Chile, a 74-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run near the Andino road; authorities are searching for the driver of a black vehicle.
Other incidents include a fatal motorcycle crash in Argentina's Diagonal Leccese and a truck rollover in San Salvador that trapped and killed a driver. In Ecuador, a pedestrian was killed after being struck on the Panamericana E35, and a major collision on the Perimetral road in Guayaquil caused significant traffic congestion.
