An armed group, allegedly members of the criminal organization Los Tlacos led by Leonel Barragán Tolentino, known as ‘La Changa’, carried out a violent attack in the Cerro de las Lumbreras community in San Miguel Totolapan, Guerrero.

At approximately 4:00 AM, the group targeted the Hernández Solano family, resulting in the deaths of at least six people, including minors and a woman with a disability. The attackers reportedly burned homes and caused significant terror within the community. Residents claim the violence was a retaliation for the family's refusal to sell their land for illegal forest exploitation and logging.

Following the massacre, many villagers fled to neighboring towns to seek refuge. Local reports highlight a pattern of aggression in the Tierra Caliente region, where criminal groups attempt to depopulate communities to seize control of natural resources such as water and forests.
