Guayas and Guayaquil expand educational and social services

In Guayas, Ecuador, the national government has invested over USD 150,000 to strengthen educational infrastructure. Minister of Education, Sport, and Culture Gilda Alcívar García oversaw the delivery of works, furniture, and equipment to various institutions. Notably, the Dr. Eduardo Granja Garcés Educational Unit received an investment of USD 122,551.67 for an integral restructuring project, which included the construction of an urban-style classroom, two sanitary facilities, and maintenance work such as painting and roof replacement.

In addition to infrastructure, the government provided furniture and equipment, including student kits, whiteboards, desks, and chairs, to several schools including San Francisco de Asís and Juan Montalvo.

Concurrently, the municipal public company DASE EP has expanded social services in Guayaquil. Recent initiatives include vocational training for over 286,000 people, the distribution of thousands of school kits through the Edúcate Guayaquil program, and the operation of municipal childcare centers. The municipality also focuses on language training and the recovery of community spaces, such as the reopening of the Polifuncional Viernes Santo.
