Guayas: Man found dead after being abducted from his home

Antonio Castro, a 22-year-old man, was found dead in a rural area of the Simón Bolívar canton in Guayas province, Ecuador, after being forcibly taken from his home.

According to police reports, several unidentified individuals entered Castro’s residence around 02:00 on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, and forced him into an unmarked white pickup truck. Approximately five hours later, his body was discovered on a rural road in the Inés María precinct.

Authorities confirmed that Castro had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The Dinased investigative unit is currently working to determine the motives behind the crime and identify the perpetrators. The location where the body was found is noted for being difficult to access and having limited telephone coverage, which complicated the initial police response.
