Guaymallén opposition seeks info on Mayor Calvente's alleged U.S. trip

Opposition members of the Guaymallén Deliberative Council have requested formal reports regarding the alleged travel of Mayor Marcos Calvente to the United States during the 2026 World Cup.

According to investigative reports citing U.S. immigration records (I-94), Calvente reportedly entered Miami on July 2 and departed on July 4, coinciding with an Argentine national team match against Cape Verde. While the municipality stated it had no record of official travel during that period and claimed it does not manage personal migration documents, opposition councilors Sonia Sedano and Exequiel Morales are seeking clarification on whether the Mayor left the jurisdiction and if the Council was properly notified of his absence.

The request aims to resolve discrepancies between the municipal administration's silence and the immigration data presented by local media.
