Guaymallén pedestrian seriously injured by falling tree branch during Zonda wind

A man walking on Manuel Videla street in the Rodeo de la Cruz neighborhood of Guaymallén, Mendoza, was severely injured when a large branch broke off a dry tree and fell on him at about 12:20 p.m. on Friday. The incident was captured by nearby security cameras and prompted an immediate emergency response; an ambulance arrived within minutes, provided first aid and transported the victim to a medical centre for further treatment. No official details about the victim’s identity or condition have been released.

The accident occurred amid strong Zonda wind gusts that have been sweeping the province, causing multiple trees and branches to fall. Local authorities have warned residents to avoid walking or driving under trees while the winds persist and have urged the removal of hazardous, deteriorated trees to prevent further injuries.
