Guaymas Local Cruise Committee established to boost tourism

Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño has established the Guaymas Local Cruise Committee to strengthen the GuaymasSan Carlos region as a competitive destination within Mexican Pacific cruise routes. The initiative, coordinated through the Secretariat of Economy and Tourism (SETUR) and the Secretariat of the Navy, aims to manage increased interest from shipping lines for the 2026–2029 period.

The committee will facilitate permanent coordination to improve passenger and crew services, excursion operations, security, and destination promotion. It includes representatives from various government levels, port authorities (ASIPONA Guaymas), customs, migration, and the local tourism and business sectors. The goal is to translate cruise arrivals into broader economic activity for local commerce, restaurants, transport providers, and tour guides.
