Gubbio Equal Opportunities Commission opposes male membership proposal

In Gubbio, a proposal to amend the regulations of the Equal Opportunities Commission is facing opposition from the commission itself. The proposal, introduced by minority councilor Luigi Girlanda, seeks to allow male members to join the body.

The current commission has issued a statement expressing its opposition to the change, describing the proposal as being “calata dall’alto” (imposed from above) without prior consultation with its members. The commission argues that it intends to maintain its identity and has already expressed a reasoned negative opinion regarding the modification to the municipal government.
