Novara corruption probe leads to arrests of Anas technicians and architect

Authorities in Novara have executed four precautionary measures as part of a corruption investigation involving public contracts and bureaucratic procedures. The operation resulted in the house arrest and suspension of three Anas technicians and a Milanese architect.

Investigations initiated in 2022 suggest a system of favors was used to accelerate administrative processes and obtain authorizations for logistics and commercial hubs. These projects include sites in Novara (Centro Interportuale Merci, Agognate, and Progetto T9), Cameri, and Trecate.

In exchange for these concessions, the technicians allegedly received cash, furniture, and technology valued at approximately 97,000 euros. A judge has ordered the preventive seizure of assets equivalent to the illicitly obtained benefits.
