Gubbio to host Festival del Medioevo in 2026

The twelfth edition of the Festival del Medioevo is scheduled to take place in Gubbio from September 23 to 27, 2026. The theme for this edition is ‘Il tempo di Francesco. Homo homini lupus’.

Coinciding with the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, the festival aims to reconstruct the historical, political, economic, and religious context of the 13th century and the legacy of Franciscanism. A notable change for this edition is the relocation of the venue from Piazzale Frondizi to the Church and Convent of San Francesco in Piazza Quaranta Martiri.

The event will utilize the Great Cloister for main lectures, while the Refectory and Chapter Hall will host meetings, editorial presentations, and activities focused on calligraphy and miniature art.
