Consumer trends reveal optimal timing for holiday shopping discounts

An analysis of seasonal pricing trends suggests that timing is critical for holiday shoppers looking to maximize savings. According to data from the comparison portal Guenstiger.de, which examined over 300 popular products across 2,000 online retailers, only 17 percent of seasonal low prices are reached in October.

November is identified as a peak period for discounts, largely driven by Black Friday promotions. Specifically, toys often reach their lowest prices in mid-November, with 21 percent of surveyed products hitting seasonal lows. Toward the end of November, consumers can expect average savings of approximately 7 percent on electronics such as televisions, smartwatches, computers, and audio equipment, as well as on beauty products and tools.

For those seeking gaming consoles and video games, waiting until mid-December may be more beneficial, as a quarter of these products reach their seasonal low during that time, offering an average discount of 9 percent. Additionally, household appliances continue to see price drops into December.

In separate retail news, the supermarket chain Penny is offering a Krups Nescafé Dolce Gusto Piccolo XS coffee machine for 29.99 Euro starting October 22. This represents a significant discount compared to the manufacturer's recommended price.
