Guerrero implements new safety, environmental, and tourism initiatives

The state of Guerrero is implementing several regional initiatives focused on safety, environmental protection, and technological advancement. The Municipal Institute of Women (Immujer) has expanded its ‘Botón Morado’ safety tool to the Acabús transport system in Acapulco, with 600 devices already installed to help women report risks via mobile alerts.

In environmental efforts, the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMAREN) has partnered with the Guerrero Scientific and Technological Research Center (CICTEG) to monitor water quality in lagoons and coastal areas, including the Coyuca Lagoon and Playa Manzanillo. This project aims to provide scientific data for the sustainable management of natural resources.

Additionally, the state is integrating artificial intelligence and digital tools to modernize its tourism sector, focusing on community-based experiences. Meanwhile, the State Public Security Secretariat continues its ‘Casco Seguro’ operation across eight regions to enforce road safety and motorcycle helmet regulations.
