Guerrero launches electoral shielding program for 2026-2027 elections

Guerrero Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda and State Attorney General Zipacná Torres Ojeda have launched the 2026-2027 Electoral Shielding Program. The initiative aims to ensure free, transparent, and legal conditions for the upcoming elections on June 6, 2027, which will determine the governorship, local deputies, and municipal governments.

Salgado Pineda emphasized the responsibility of institutions to act with impartiality, ensuring that public resources and programs are not used to favor specific political interests. The state prosecutor, Torres Ojeda, stated that authorities will work to prevent, investigate, and prosecute any conduct that constitutes an electoral crime to maintain a level playing field for all political expressions.
