Thousands of residents in the state of Guerrero, Mexico, marched along the Zihuatanejo-Acapulco federal highway to demand the release of eight individuals kidnapped by the criminal organization La Familia Michoacana.

The victims, who were abducted on September 24 while performing agricultural work in the El Balcón ejido of Ajuchitlán del Progreso, include two minors aged 12 and 17. The identified individuals are Jordi Alberto Atanacio Vidal, Everardo León Atanacio, Nicolás Atanacio González, Domingo Atanacio Quirino, Isidro Brito Arriola, Leodanis Medrano López, Ulises Medrano López, and Fidel Quirino Atanacio.

Protesters, many dressed in white, traveled from the Expo-Tecpan area toward Papanoa to demand security guarantees and the safe return of their community members. Despite ongoing operations by the Army and the National Guard in the region for several days, the captives remain missing.
