Guerrero Tourism Secretary Boosts Partnership with Coparmex Acapulco to Drive Tourism Growth
Guerrero’s Secretary of Tourism, Simón Quiñones Orozco, attended the monthly assembly of Coparmex Acapulco and reaffirmed Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda’s pledge to deepen coordination with the private sector. He highlighted an 8.1 % increase in air‑arrival visitors from January to June 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier, and cited the 50th Tianguis Turístico as a catalyst for promotion, investment and confidence in state destinations, noting Acapulco’s recent recognition for tourism recovery.
Quiñones presented the state’s summer‑season promotion strategy and announced the addition of new airline routes slated for November and December to improve connectivity. He took the oath of the newly formed Coparmex Acapulco Tourism Commission, welcomed six new companies as members, and reported that 450 workers had been trained to enhance sector competitiveness. The meeting concluded with an agreement to pursue a joint work agenda between the tourism secretariat and the business organization.
