Killzone revival reportedly in early development with People Can Fly

Reports suggest that Sony is working to revive the Killzone franchise, which has been dormant since 2013. Guerrilla Games is reportedly in the very early stages of development on a project that would likely be a remaster or a remake of an existing title, with the original 2004 game being the most probable candidate for a visual upgrade.

Guerrilla Games is expected to collaborate with an external developer to manage the workload. Speculation points to the Polish studio People Can Fly as the likely partner. This connection stems from a March 2025 agreement between Sony and People Can Fly for a project codenamed ‘Project Delta,’ which is based on an existing PlayStation intellectual property.

The project's timeline may be affected by Guerrilla Games' current priorities. The studio is reportedly focusing on addressing negative feedback and rebooting the development of the live-service title Horizon Hunters Gathering. Once that project is stabilized, resources are expected to shift toward the Killzone revival, potentially preceding the development of a new Horizon installment.
