Guest House aims for historic Golden Slipper-Golden Rose double

The colt Guest House is attempting to achieve an unprecedented Golden Slipper-Golden Rose double at Rosehill this Saturday. If successful, the horse will become the first to win both races within the same calendar year.

While the horse Forensics previously won both races, those victories occurred in different years due to the 2007 equine influenza outbreak. Since the Golden Rose became a Group 1 race in 2009, no Golden Slipper winner has managed to capture the title. Guest House enters the $1 million race as a $2.80 favourite, following a recent victory in the San Domenico Stakes.

Jockey Zac Lloyd expressed high confidence in the horse, noting that Guest House has demonstrated the ability to maintain brilliance during the transition from a two-year-old to a three-year-old. The upcoming race will test the colt's ability to compete over 1400 metres against 12 rivals.
