Guglielmo Vicario finds early success on loan at Juventus

Guglielmo Vicario has made a strong start at Juventus following his season-long loan move from Tottenham Hotspur. After losing his starting position at Tottenham due to a hernia operation and the emergence of Antonin Kinsky, the 29-year-old Italian international has found immediate success in Turin.

In his first five Serie A appearances, Vicario has kept three clean sheets and conceded only four goals. This performance comes despite initial skepticism from some Italian media and journalists who questioned his adaptability or characterized the signing as an act of desperation.

Former Juventus goalkeeper Michelangelo Rampulla expressed confidence in the move, stating he never doubted Vicario’s abilities. Rampulla suggested that the circumstances of his departure from Tottenham have given the goalkeeper a ‘right desire for revenge’ and noted that Juventus provides an extraordinary stage for him to showcase his qualities.
