Mister Verão 2026 champion stabbed in Pará, suspect arrested

Guilherme Teixeira, known as Gui Marajoara, won the Mister Verão 2026 contest in Ponta de Pedras on the Marajó archipelago, Pará. Hours after the competition, he was attacked by fellow contestant Jean Amorim, who was third‑place. The assault involved a glass cup (initial reports mentioned a knife) and left Gui with multiple cuts to his head, neck and ear. He was taken to a local hospital, placed under observation and later requested a surgical bed for treatment of the neck wound.

Police detained Amorim as he attempted to flee the town by boat toward Belém. He was arrested by the 8º Batalhão da Polícia Militar and taken to the Ponta de Pedras police station. The Polícia Civil opened an investigation to clarify the motive and circumstances of the incident. Local officials, including a city councilor, publicly condemned the violence.

The victim remains hospitalized in Pará, while the suspect faces charges for intentional bodily injury. The case has garnered significant attention on social media and in regional news outlets.
