Guido Crosetto warns Putin may not stop at Ukraine
Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto has warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin may not limit his military objectives to Ukraine. In an interview with the BBC, Crosetto stated that Europe and NATO are preparing for potential future risks because the majority of the Russian budget is currently being invested in weaponry and military spending.
Crosetto noted that Russia could soon have a military force of 1.5 million personnel. He clarified that while his goal is to ensure Ukraine's survival and end the war, supporting Kyiv's resistance is not an opposition to peace. He defined victory for Ukraine as the withdrawal of Russian forces, the cessation of bombings, and the restoration of Ukrainian freedom and sovereignty.
Regarding domestic security, Crosetto addressed recent unrest in Milan, noting that many of those detained were very young minors. He emphasized the need to punish violence while also understanding the underlying social drivers behind the unrest.
