Guido Dorso Awards to be presented at the Italian Senate
The 47th edition of the “Guido Dorso” awards will be held on October 8 at the Senate of the Republic in Palazzo Giustiniani. Promoted by the Guido Dorso Association and presided over by Nicola Squitieri, the initiative is supported by the Senate, the National Research Council, and the University of Naples “Federico II”.
Since 1970, the awards have recognized young scholars and figures from institutional, economic, scientific, and cultural sectors who have contributed to the development of Southern Italy. This year's recipients include Salvatore Luongo, Commander General of the Carabinieri; Roberto Andò, director and writer; and Danilo Ercolini of the University of Naples “Federico II”, among others.
The representative plaque of President Sergio Mattarella, intended for an institution working for the Mezzogiorno, has been awarded to the Fondazione Ente Ville Vesuviane.
