Empoli coach Guido Pagliuca resigns from position
Guido Pagliuca has resigned from his position as head coach of Empoli following a difficult start to the Serie B season. The decision comes after a period of reported tension between the manager and the club, as well as a recent defeat against Modena and an early exit from the Coppa Italia against Pisa.
Because Pagliuca chose to resign rather than being dismissed, regulatory constraints may prevent him from immediately joining another club like Carrarese during the same season. Under current regulations, the allowance for a second registration within the same season typically applies to coaches who are officially dismissed before December 20.
Empoli is currently searching for a successor. Matteo Andreoletti, the former Padova coach, is considered the frontrunner for the position, while a return of Fabio Caserta is also being discussed as a potential option.
