Guild Wars 3 reveals new Asura lore and character designs

ArenaNet has shared new details regarding the Asura species in the upcoming Guild Wars 3. Set approximately 1,000 years before previous adventures, the game explores the golden age of Orr.

Due to the specific timeline and setting, the Asura will feature a distinct visual design compared to their counterparts in Guild Wars 1 and 2. These Asura are described as being slightly larger, somewhat rougher, and more fur-covered, reflecting a life less defined by permanent underground living. Despite these physical changes, they retain their core characteristics of high intelligence, curiosity, and intense ambition.

The narrative focuses on Asura explorers who were drawn to the surface by the magical properties of Orr. Key figures mentioned include an engineer named Zouelle, who founded the surface settlement Rata Pten to research the region's magic, and her granddaughter Niommi.
