Guilherme Teodoro and Giulia Takahashi advance in WTT Europe Smash qualifiers

Brazilian table tennis players Guilherme Teodoro and Giulia Takahashi have advanced to the second round of the qualifying stage at the WTT Europe Smash in Malmö, Sweden.

In the men's bracket, Guilherme Teodoro overcame a 2-0 set deficit to defeat Sweden's Adam Wallin with a 3-2 victory. After losing the first two sets, Teodoro secured a dominant third set with an 11-2 score before winning the fourth 11-9 and closing the match with an 11-3 final set.

In the women's bracket, Giulia Takahashi secured a straight-sets victory (3-0) against Sweden's Alma Roose, winning 11-8, 12-10, and 11-6.

Other Brazilian participants were eliminated in the first round: Leonardo Iizuka lost 3-0 to Vladislav Ursu, and Laura Watanabe lost 3-1 to Gaia Monfardini. The upcoming decisive round will see Teodoro face Wim Verdonschot and Takahashi face Orawan Paranang, with winners qualifying for the main draw.
