Guillaume Bede signs first professional hockey contract with Steaua București

Guillaume Bede, a 20-year-old Swiss ice hockey defender, has signed his first professional contract with Steaua București in Romania.

Bede, who was born in Geneva, previously played for Fribourg-Gottéron and served as assistant captain for the U21 Young Dragons. His decision to move to the Romanian league is considered unusual by Swiss hockey standards, as players from competitive Swiss junior systems typically move to leagues in Austria or Germany. Bede stated that the opportunity with Steaua București represents a new stage in his career, having declined offers from both Switzerland and other clubs in Romania.
