Guillaume Canet releases thriller Karma

Director and screenwriter Guillaume Canet is set to release his new thriller, Karma, in cinemas on October 21, 2026. Co-written with Simon Jacquet, the film features a cast including Marion Cotillard, Denis Ménochet, and Leonardo Sbaraglia.

The narrative follows Jeanne and Daniel, a couple living a modest life despite past traumas. The plot intensifies when Jeanne’s six-year-old godson, Mateo, mysteriously disappears. As police cast suspicion on Jeanne, she flees, prompting Daniel to search for her and uncover the dark secrets of her past.

While the film has been compared to a bestselling novel, some critiques note its length. This release marks a return to the thriller genre for Canet, following his previous work, ‘Ne le dis à personne’.
