Guillaume Poix’s ‘Un Sacre’ returns to the National Theatre of Greece

The play ‘Un Sacre’ (Hierotelesia) by French playwright Guillaume Poix returns to the National Theatre of Greece for a second year. Directed by Christos Theodoridis, the production features a renewed cast and is scheduled to premiere on October 1 at the ‘Nikos Kourkoulos’ New Stage in the Tsiller Building.

Inspired by 300 interviews conducted between 2020 and 2021 during a period of collective isolation, the work explores themes of mortality, loss, and humanity. Based on an idea by French director Lorraine de Sagazan, the play weaves together individual stories of death and sacrifice to reflect on the broader history of humanity. The production includes three new stories inspired by recent Greek reality to complement the original narrative.
