Guillem Farres wins 2026 MX2 World Championship
Guillem Farres has been crowned the 2026 MX2 World Champion following the season finale in Australia. The championship was decided in a duel between Farres and his Triumph teammate, Camden McLellan.
During the final round, McLellan won the qualifying race and the first MX2 moto on Sunday. However, Farres secured a second-place finish in that moto, providing him with enough points to clinch the title ahead of McLellan. While Liam Everts won the second moto and McLellan took the overall Grand Prix victory, Farres secured the season championship.
The title marks a significant career turnaround for the Spanish rider. In 2021, Farres was competing in the EMX250 mid-pack and working in a supermarket to fund his racing. His trajectory changed after winning the ADAC MX Youngster Cup and receiving an opportunity to compete in the US AMA Pro Motocross Championship with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing in 2022.
