Spanish athletes secure historic motocross and cycling world titles

Spanish riders achieved historic success at the final round of the Motocross World Championship in Darwin, Australia. Daniela Guillén became the first Spanish woman to win the FIM Women's Motocross World Championship (WMX). Competing at the Hidden Valley circuit, the 20-year-old secured the title by winning both motos, finishing the season with 233 points and a 24-point lead over Kiara Fontanesi.

In the MX2 category, Guillem Farrés claimed his first world title, riding for Triumph. Farrés secured the championship after finishing second and fourth in the Darwin motos, totaling 904 points to edge out teammate Camden McLellan. This victory marks the second time a Spaniard has won the MX2 title, following Jorge Prado.

In mountain biking, David Valero won the 2026 XCM Cross-Country Marathon World Cup. Competing in Girona, Spain, Valero secured the overall title after winning the final race of the season, finishing ahead of Andreas Seewald and Eskil Evensen-Lie.
