Guillermo del Toro: Pan's Labyrinth 4K release and genre interests

Guillermo del Toro's acclaimed film “Pan's Labyrinth” is returning to Polish cinemas in an updated 4K version to mark its twentieth anniversary. Distributed by Kino Świat as part of the “Studiocanal Classics” series, nationwide screenings are scheduled to begin on October 25. A pre-release screening will also take place at the Splat!FilmFest at the Warsaw Kinotece between October 22 and 31.

In a separate development, the director expressed interest in returning to the science fiction genre. During a Reddit Q&A session, del Toro stated his desire to revisit the concept of kaiju and giant robots, noting that the combination of these elements is a personal favorite. He reflected on his work with “Pacific Rim,” describing it as one of his favorite directorial projects due to the creative experimentation with lighting, rain, and night settings.
