Guillermo del Toro says he plays Angry Birds every day
At the 2026 San Diego Comic‑Con, where he marked the 20th anniversary of Pan’s Labyrinth, filmmaker Guillermo del Toro discussed his longtime love of video games. He highlighted titles such as Journey, Left 4 Dead, Monument Valley, Death Stranding, Shadow of the Colossus and Bioshock, and expressed admiration for the roguelike Dead Cells.
Del Toro surprised the audience by revealing that his daily gaming habit is the mobile classic Angry Birds, saying, “Every day of my life, every free moment, I keep playing Angry Birds. I’m very good at it.” He also joked with developers about creating a version without respawn for older players.
The full interview will be published later in IGN’s “30 Icons” series.
