Guillermo Maripán misses Chilean court hearing over intimate content allegations

Guillermo Maripán, a defender for the Brazilian club SC Internacional, missed a scheduled court hearing in Santiago, Chile, regarding allegations of sharing intimate content of influencer Carmen Castillo, also known as ‘Carmen Tuitera’.

The legal matter stems from an incident in January 2025 when Maripán was playing for Torino in Italy. While the defense claims Maripán was a victim of extortion and acted on impulse due to distress, Castillo maintains there is sufficient evidence to prove the crime.

Maripán’s legal team cited ‘professional impediments’ for his absence, and the hearing has been rescheduled for December 16. Lawyers for Castillo stated that if the player fails to appear at the next date, a warrant for his arrest could be issued. In the meantime, Maripán has remained in Porto Alegre to continue training with Internacional.
