Guillermo Plate addresses insurance growth and risk prevention in Rosario

Guillermo Plate, the Superintendent of the National Insurance Superintendency (SSN), recently participated in two major industry events in Rosario, Argentina: the 45th Annual Ordinary Assembly of the Association of Insurers of the Interior of the Argentine Republic (ADIRA) and the opening of the XXVI International ORP 2026 Congress.

At the ADIRA assembly, Plate emphasized the importance of collaboration between regulators and the insurance sector to address challenges posed by economic growth and market transformation. He highlighted the need for the insurance market to support strategic sectors such as Vaca Muerta, mining, agriculture, and the knowledge industry. Plate noted that new economic risks require new insurance products, which in turn drive capital retention and investment.

During the International ORP 2026 Congress, which focuses on occupational risk prevention and workplace safety, Plate described insurance as the ‘invisible infrastructure of growth.’ He stressed the necessity of financial solvency and the use of technology to anticipate risks and protect workers. He advocated for supervision that promotes prevention and leverages digital tools to ensure the industry can meet its long-term commitments.
