Guillermo Rivero de la Rosa, prominent Cuban broadcaster, dies

Cuban broadcaster Guillermo ‘Guille’ Rivero de la Rosa has passed away in Havana following a heart attack. His death was confirmed by individuals linked to official state media.

Rivero de la Rosa had a career spanning over three decades in Cuban radio and television. He began his professional journey in 1990 at Radio Cadena Habana and later worked for Radio Metropolitana and Radio Ciudad de La Habana. He was notably associated with Radio Taíno for more than twenty years, where he hosted programs such as ‘Cuba Tonight’ and ‘De Mañana’.

One of his most recognized contributions was the musical program ‘Mezcla’, which he hosted for 35 years alongside Moraima Ruiz. His work was characterized by a focus on music, humor, and a conversational style aimed at a broad audience. He also appeared on television, notably on the program ‘Piso 6’.
