Thomas Silva wins Arctic Race of Norway overall title

Uruguayan cyclist Thomas Silva of the XDS Astana Team has won the overall classification at the 2026 Arctic Race of Norway. Silva secured the title after a dominant performance that included winning the third stage, known as the Queen Stage, on the climb to Storheia.

On the final stage to Narvik, Silva successfully defended his lead despite facing a puncture and a crash early in the race. He finished third in the final stage, behind Norwegian Cedrik Bakke Christophersen, which was enough to secure the general classification victory. Silva finished 14 seconds ahead of runner-up Lennert Van Eetvelt and 25 seconds ahead of Alessandro Pinarello.

Silva’s victory marks a historic achievement for Uruguayan cycling, as he becomes the first South American to win a stage at this event. His performance in Norway follows a highly successful season that includes previous wins in the Tour of Hainan and the Clasica de Castilla y Leon.
