Guimarães welcomes Festival Recomeço and Guimarães Clássico cultural events

The University of Minho’s Festival Recomeço returns to Guimarães and Braga from 17 to 19 September. Organized by the university’s Cultural Council, the three‑day programme offers exhibitions, concerts, guided tours, theatre performances in Portuguese and English, and activities such as a hike on Penha mountain and a picnic. Registrations opened on 8 September and events are staged at venues including Teatro Jordão, Paço dos Duques and the CCVF.

From 10 to 15 August, the city hosts the eighth edition of the Guimarães Clássico classical music festival. The municipal‑organized event features concerts, masterclasses and artistic exchanges inspired by nature, under themes such as “Roots” and “Four Seasons”. International artists include violinist Bartłomiej Nizioł and cellist Adam Klocek, supported by the Quarteto de Cordas de Guimarães and partners such as the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Baltic Neopolis Orchestra.
