Guinea advances stadium renovations for national football matches
Guinean sports authorities are making progress on major stadium renovations to bolster the country's sports infrastructure. Sports Minister Cellou Baldé announced that work is advancing rapidly at the Stade Général Lansana Conté de Nongo, noting that the arrival of new turf last week has allowed installation to begin. If completed in time, the national team, Syli National, could host its November match at this venue.
Regarding the Stade du 28 Septembre, Elhadj Ibrahima Barry Blasco, Secretary General of FEGUIFOOT, stated that renovation work is approximately 95% complete. The remaining 5% involves addressing specific requirements identified during a recent inspection by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). These final tasks include installing pedestrian and vehicle signage and acquiring a second generator to ensure reliable power supply during international matches.
