Guinea ex-OGP chief Mandian Sidibé charged with 78 billion GNF embezzlement

Former director-general of Guinea's Office of Public Advertising (OGP), Mandian Sidibé, appeared before the Court of Repression of Economic and Financial Offences (CRIEF) in Conakry on 10 June 2026. He faces charges of misappropriating public funds estimated at 78 billion Guinean francs, abuse of office and illegal use of public money, together with two co‑accused, former administrative and financial director Aboubacar Sidiki Konaté and Pépé Haba.

All three defendants denied the accusations and pleaded not guilty. Sidibé’s defence submitted a medical report dated 2 June 2026 and requested provisional release for treatment, but the court rejected the request. The hearing was adjourned to 15 June 2026 for further examination of the case.
