Guinea holds memorial service for former First Lady Hadja Andrée Touré

A memorial ceremony and prayer service were held at Cases Bellevue in Conakry to mark the 40th day since the passing of Hadja Andrée Touré, the former First Lady of Guinea and wife of the nation's first president, Ahmed Sékou Touré.

The event was presided over by Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah and attended by government members, religious leaders, and family. During the service, religious authorities led the reading of the Holy Quran and offered blessings for the deceased.

Participants shared testimonies regarding her life and legacy. Elhadj Madifing Diané, a former minister and associate of the Sékou Touré family, described her as a faithful companion in the struggle for the country's liberation and a dedicated figure who served her husband, her country, and her family with humility.
