Guinea launches preparations for new National Public Health Agency

Preparatory work has begun in Conakry for the creation of Guinea’s National Public Health Agency (ANSP). The initiative, led by Minister of Health and Public Hygiene Khaité Sall, aims to consolidate various essential health functions currently distributed across multiple entities.

The new agency is expected to integrate the National Health Security Agency, the National Institute of Public Health, the Biomedical Research Center, and several ministerial directorates. This reform is designed to improve coordination, enhance epidemiological surveillance, manage health data, and streamline emergency response and early warning systems.

Minister Sall identified this reform as a major component of the Simandou 2040 program. The project involves technical and financial partners, including the World Bank and the World Health Organization (WHO).
