Guinea launches quarterly economic dialogue with private sector
The Ministry of Economy, Finance and Budget has established the Quarterly Economic Dialogue (DET), a new consultative framework designed to strengthen communication between the government and private sector actors. The initiative aims to address national economic trends, ongoing reforms, and the concerns of economic operators.
This dialogue occurs amidst efforts to transform the Guinean economy, specifically through the Simandou 2040 program. During the inaugural session, Abdoulaye Ibrahima Diallo, National Director of Economic Forecasting and Trends, emphasized the importance of reliable economic analysis and monitoring international environments to anticipate domestic repercussions.
Private sector representatives, including Alexandre Camara, welcomed the framework and advocated for public-private partnerships to stimulate investment and economic diversification. Key discussions centered on improving the business climate, local content, taxation, and digitalization.
