Guinea launches UN decent‑work programme and secures €300 million road funding

In Conakry, Minister of Employment Mory Condé officially launched the UN Global Accelerator Programme for decent work and social protection. The initiative, supported by the International Labour Organization, aims to help create up to 400 million decent jobs worldwide and extend social coverage to billions of vulnerable people, aligning with Guinea's broader economic transformation plans.

Separately, the Guinean government signed a €300 million financing agreement to build the 160‑km Labé‑Tougué‑Bafing road, including a bridge over the Bafing River. The contract was signed by Finance Minister Mariama Ciré Sylla and Infrastructure Minister Facinet Sylla, emphasizing the project's role in opening up remote regions, improving trade and supporting agricultural development under President Mamadi Doumbouya's infrastructure strategy.
