Guinea President sets dates for regional and Senate elections

Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya has issued a decree establishing the dates for upcoming regional council elections and the renewal of two-thirds of the Senate.

The regional council elections are scheduled to take place across the entire national territory, including the Conakry special zone, on November 29, 2026. The Senate renewal vote is set for December 20, 2026, also covering all administrative regions and the Conakry special zone.

Various government officials and institutional leaders, including the ministers of Justice, Territorial Administration, Defense, Security, and Economy, have been tasked with overseeing the implementation of this decree.
