Guinea Regulator Bans Dinguiraye TV, Revokes Founder’s Press Card

On 27 July 2026 the Haute Autorité de la Communication (HAC) ordered the nationwide ban of the web‑TV Dinguiraye TV and immediately withdrew the professional press card (No B25124250149) of its founder, Ibrahima Diakité. The decision, taken in a regular session chaired by HAC president Boubacar Yacine Diallo, cited illegal creation and operation of the station in the Dinguiraye prefecture and the use of students as reporters, which breach the regulations governing the press profession.

The HAC’s ruling builds on findings from the Direction générale de la Radio rurale de Guinée, which had already suspended Diakité from his role as head of the local community station for repeated misconduct. Enforcement will involve the regional governor of Faranah, the prefect, and the mayor of Dinguiraye, together with HAC’s local focal points and supervisors.
