Guinea sports watchdog group launches anti-corruption initiative
The Common Front Against Obscure Practices in Guinean Sport (FCCPOG) officially launched its activities on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the headquarters of the Guinean Professional Football League. Led by General Coordinator Moussa CFA Camara, the organization aims to combat unethical behaviors that undermine the integrity of the nation's sports sector.
The group intends to target issues including corruption, favoritism, age fraud, harassment, physical and moral violence, discrimination, doping, and match-fixing. Camara emphasized that these practices sabotage athlete talent and dignity, specifically noting recent revelations regarding pressure and abuse faced by young female players.
To achieve its mission, FCCPOG plans to focus on raising awareness among athletes, coaches, and officials, while advocating for merit-based selection, independent oversight, real sanctions, and the protection of whistleblowers. The initiative seeks to mobilize federations, clubs, the Ministry of Sports, and journalists to ensure transparency and protect the rights of athletes.
