Guinea targets 7.8% economic growth by 2027
Guinea is projected to become one of the most dynamic economies in sub-Saharan Africa, with growth expected to rise from 7.2% in 2026 to 7.8% in 2027, according to International Monetary Fund (IMF) regional economic outlooks.
Under the leadership of President Mamadi Doumbouya, the country is pursuing a strategy to transform its vast natural resources into sustainable prosperity. This approach focuses on state refoundation, infrastructure modernization through the Simandou 2040 program, and moving beyond a raw material export model toward local industrial and productive transformation.
The realization of these projections depends on successful investment execution, international economic conditions, and the government's ability to ensure the benefits of large-scale projects reach the broader economy.
