Guinea vs. Kenya AFCON qualifier sparks ticket price controversy
The Guinean Football Federation (FEGUIFOOT) is preparing for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 qualifier between Guinea and Kenya, scheduled for October 1, 2026, at the Stade du 28 Septembre.
Ticket pricing for the match has sparked significant controversy among supporters. Entry fees have been set starting at 100,000 GNF for the North and South stands, increasing to 200,000 GNF for the East stand and 300,000 GNF for the West stand. Many fans have expressed indignation on social media, arguing that these prices are excessive and do not align with the average local purchasing power.
In addition to ticketing, the Federation has issued a call to fast-food professionals to operate 28 kiosks within the stadium. Interested vendors must provide menus and proof of authorization, adhering to strict hygiene and safety standards, including the use of unbreakable containers for refreshments.
