Guinean Football Federation election sees candidates emerge

The upcoming elective general assembly of the Guinean Football Federation (FGF), scheduled for October 27, is seeing increased activity as candidates emerge for the presidency.

AS Kaloum, a historic football institution, has officially announced its sponsorship and total support for the candidacy of Dr. Ibrahima Khalil Kaba. In a formal communiqué, the club stated that Guinean football has faced years of institutional crises, internal conflicts, and divisions. The club expressed a need for a profound transformation in governance and identified Kaba as a leader with the integrity and ability to unite the sport under an ambitious project.

In a separate development, former FGF president Mamadou Antonio Souaré has been announced as a candidate for the presidency. The announcement was made via social media by journalist Abdoul Hamid Bangoura. Souaré, who previously led the federation from 2017 to 2021, has not yet made a public statement to personally confirm his candidacy or officially file his dossier, as he reportedly works to finalize his list of candidates.
